Lovely detail in the photo, Jude.

Thanks Pete, a close-up, but it was very windy out there!

    Looking dignified in that ruffle.

A delightful shot of a flower I love, but have never once reared successfully. What’s the secret?

    1. Heyjude says:

These are from last year so I am not sure how many flowers I will get. I just shove them into a container. If this pot is Anemone coronaria ‘Hollandia’ they should be a much brighter red.

Such a pretty anemone – wish I could grow these better. (I haven’t been very successful with these so far!)

I’m glad to know I’m not alone. I’ve just said pretty much this to Jude.

      1. Ann Mackay says:

Yet the Japanese anemones would happily take over my garden – such a difference in the anemone species!

        1. margaret21 says:

Astonishing! I’m pleased they’re doing well for you.

I don’t do anything special, just cram them into a container. Last year I didn’t water them enough in the dry spring which affected the flowering.

      1. Ann Mackay says:

Ah, maybe I should try them in a container rather than in the ground – also less likely to be accidentally dug up!

        1. Heyjude says:

Nearly all my spring bulbs are in containers, there are some in the ground, mostly bulbs from previous years. I’ll need to dig them all up this year so I can revamp the beds.

        2. Ann Mackay says:

That would be a good idea for here, my only problem would be that hubby usually pinches all the containers he can get his hands on to use at the front of the house. Heaven knows where the bulbs would end up, LOL!

It looks very hairy! Anyone come to fix the leaks yet?

    1. Heyjude says:

I was surprised by the hairs! And no. Everyone is too busy, or not interested. Sigh…

      1. restlessjo says:

You’ll have to buy some more buckets 🪣 😉

        1. Heyjude says:

Fortunately I have plenty of flower pots and trays!
