Moving Forward: Day 2

Becky’s Squares photo challenge has returned.
This month’s theme is Renew. Or Burgeoning. Or Moving Forward. Or Reconstructing.

You get the idea.

Seeing the garden awaken after months of deluge made me think that maybe seeing how nature renews itself might be my theme. My garden is my happy place and it will, I’m sure, help me to move forward.

Lily of the ValleyA symbol of purity, joy, love, sincerity, happiness and luck.

Lovely picture – I always love to see them. Have some of my mother’s here, brought back from Scotland. In France they are the flower friends offer each other on the first of May …

    1. Heyjude says:

They look lovely in large clumps. Nice that you have some from your mother’s garden.

  2. They’re so pretty. Best wishes to you, Jude.

      Thank you Lynette.

Lovely image – I can smell those little flowers….

    1. Heyjude says:

Do you like the smell? I was never fond of lily of the valley soaps and perfume, I found it rather too sweet and cloying.

  4. Thanks to my upbringing it makes me think of a hymn! He is my lily of the valley, my bright and shining star. Not sure if the words are because of the flower’s symbolism or vice versa.

    1. Heyjude says:

Well they are definitely bright and shining stars.

  5. My grandma’s favourite flower and scent! Cherished memories.

    1. Heyjude says:

I remember them from when I was a small child. They seemed to be in everyone’s front garden then.

  6. Delicate beauty.

    1. Heyjude says:

They do look delicate. Probably tougher than they seem, like snowdrops.

Such pretty flowers – we need smellivision! Unfortunately, the weeds are also moving forward (and at a very brisk pace) in my own garden!

    1. Heyjude says:

This is last year’s photo. Unfortunately they have suffered from S&S attacks this year so I don’t know if I shall get any flowers. I really do need to move them.
