Moving Forward: Day 24

Becky’s Squares photo challenge has returned.

This month’s theme is Renew. Or Burgeoning. Or Moving Forward. Or Reconstructing.

You get the idea.

Seeing the garden awaken after months of deluge made me think that maybe seeing how nature renews itself might be my theme. Although my intention was to feature my own garden this month, a visit to Kew Gardens at the beginning of the month with my daughter and granddaughter provided me with the opportunity to experiment with the phone I have inherited from my son.  So for the next week or so I shall share some of the things that caught my eye there. Spending time with family very much helped me in the process of moving forward.

Leaf Spirit by Simon Gudgeon (2018)

“The inspiration behind this serene sculpture is the tranquillity that we benefit from when surrounded by trees and nature – the peace that refuels our bodies and mind”

Tranquil indeed, and it also seems to be in the right situation, as part of Nature.

    Best wishes, Pete. x

Oh, that’s beautiful! I don’t remember seeing it last time I was at Kew, I am clearly overdue a visit!

I can’t remember where it is as we just kind of stumbled across it. Behind the Temperate Glasshouse maybe.

Thanks, I’ll look out for it 🙂

We actually went when the latest art exhibition opened – Light into Light by Marc Quinn, but I wasn’t so keen on those, I just found them too new and shiny. As usual far too much to see in one visit.

  3. It’s a really good depiction of how I feel when I’m surrounded by trees in a forest! Beautiful sculpture.

Yes, it evokes a great sense of peace. Reminds me in a way of our Green Man.

A beautiful sculpture that feels as if it is emerging from the greenery around it – a quiet, calm spirit of nature.
