In the UK it is a right royal weekend with the second of the Bank Holidays this month. Somewhat typical of our bank holidays rain is forecast. Before you get stuck into waving your flags and scoffing your cucumber sandwiches along with a glass of Bollinger perhaps you could help me with a puzzle. Only last week this beautiful Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola‘ was looking very good with all the new growth cascading over the edge of the pot and then one morning I awoke to find this:
It lives in the courtyard which is open, but even though there are snails living in the courtyard I have never had anything attack this grass or cause this much damage overnight. And before you ask, no, the naughty sheep are no longer nearby. So… rabbits? But would they come back a second night to almost finish it off? (It has since been moved to the back garden which is fenced off). Answers/advice in the comments please!

Cornwall in Colours 
Your garden is very regal-looking. My eye went to the forget-me-nots(?) in the background – a very atmospheric flower for me. I tried to interest my sweetheart in coronation cucumber sandwiches, but got a resounding ‘no’.
Ah, yes, the forget me nots are masters of photo bombing at this time of year.
