festival of spring #1

It is officially spring now in the northern hemisphere and with the clocks going forward last Sunday we are also in BST (British Summer Time) which means sunset tonight won’t be until 19:30 ish. I enjoy the lighter evenings and it feels like we are finally shaking off the dull and dreary winter. I am going to join in with Dawn’s Festival of Spring which will last for 10 -12 weeks in celebration of this season and share something that is happening in or around my neighbourhood each week.

This week I celebrate the colour yellow. Not a colour I am fond of for the summer garden, but one of the first colours to appear in spring. And there is nothing more cheerful than a daffodil, except perhaps a woodland tulip.

The sight of daffodils is one that makes me instantly happier. 🙂 It’s always a relief when the clocks change for BST and there’s the feeling of leaving winter behind.

  2. Such a cheery colour in the garden. Happy spring – I hope the weather is nice.
