Pink is not a colour I associate with my garden and especially at this time of year, but I thought I’d have a wander and see whether there was anything in flower this weekend.

Nice hellebore! I used to really dislike pink flowers but looking out on the patio now it’s the primary colour. How did that happen?

Hyacinths work so much better in the garden than in pots -except it’s harder to profit from the smell. This one of yours is lovely. As are the hellebores. And indeed the anemones.
Do you think so? The ones planted in the garden are always misshapen.
So are the ones that are in pots indoors! They always have to be propped up in ungainly ways.
Oh, no, that pot is outside. I’m not hugely fond of hyacinth perfume indoors, too overwhelming, like scented lilies.
The close-up of the hellebore is beautiful. They come in different colours, don’t they? I think it must have been hellebore flowers that I saw in a garden in Cape Town recently, but they were green/yellow …
Hellebores are winter / early spring flowering. They do come in different colours, but yellow is unusual.
Then it was probably another flower, because it was mid summer.
Mmm… I wonder what it was. No photos?
Unfortunately not. We were a group of friends on a late afternoon stroll and saw these lovely flowers … then wondered what they were, but soon our attention turned to what we should eat (and drink) and then we forgot all about the flowers. You can see we are not gardeners 🙂.
Food and drink are very important, I can see why you lost interest in the flowers 😁

You did well to find pinks at this time of the year. The soft pink of the hyacinth is lovely, as is the vibrant anemone.
Such pretty pinks! They do seem less common than yellows and blues in spring – maybe it’s just because we tend to automatically think of daffodils and bluebells.
There are not many pink flowering bulbs in late winter I suppose. Once spring really begins we see the magnolia and other blossoms in the softer shades.
I do love pink, and your pinks show the best of being ‘in the pink’! Isn’t it delicate how hyacinths tend to slim down as they age!
