Optimism indeed. The snowdrops are positively galloping now, and all the other spring buds are inching their way upwards, day by day. It lifts the soul.
No snowdrops here. I had some under the Kilmarnock willow tree which was removed in November so the snowdrops will certainly have been disturbed. Probably some in the NT gardens.
They’re sturdy little things, aren’t they? Especially in comparison with some crocus shoots I was looking at expectantly yesterday, as if I thought looking would make them flower.
Nice.

It does indeed.
Yours will be further along than ours Sandra.
I’m sure. The snowdrops are showing their white buds already but not yet at their peak. I love them!
You should visit the Garden House near Tavistock, not too far from you and they have loads of different varieties.
Thank you, Jude. I’ve just looked at the website. 350 varieties of snowdrop! It looks a beautiful place.

I hope yours come back next year. NT Fountains Abbey is awash with snowdrops, so I hope you get lucky.
The crocuses are making their way up so there will soon be some colour.
Crocuses? Not here yet by a long chalk.
Yep! All those bulbs we bought at the show are zooming along π€π
What did you buy?
Good question π€. Alliums and some other stuff π€£. Photos to follow at some point πͺ»πΈπ
My alliums are growing but won’t flower until May when the leaves will be tatty.
Nothing budding around here, and the snowdrops over on Beetley Meadows failed to appear at all. (So far)
Best wishes, Pete. x
I haven’t seen any snowdrops either. Not sure there are any in the wild in Cornwall.
You’ll all have to come to North Yorkshire. Snowdrops are everywhere just now.
Something is definitely going to happen in these pots – what a lovely prospect!
I can’t wait! These are new varieties so I hope they flower well.
Little shoots all saying ‘Yippeee!’

My crocuses are just beginning to show, but blackbirds keep digging up the bed where they are planted.
Very pretty and spring-like.
Soon be flowers I hope!
Spring is on the way!
So full of promise, Jude. π
And more coming up every day.
