frosty friday

sparkling diamonds

In the 6 years since moving to the southwest of Cornwall I have only seen a handful of frosty mornings, including the Beast from the East back in 2018. This week has been exceptional with frost most days and yesterday the hardest one yet. Temperatures that don’t normally fall below zero were down to -3. I have left some tender plants outside although sheltered under a table and bench, but only time will tell if they survive.

Using the macro lens I was able to zoom in on some of the plants. It’s so interesting to see how the ice crystals form.

  1. Frosty indeed! Love your ‘sparkling diamonds’ photo. Just the sort of post I need as it’s over 30 degrees Celsius and I need something to cool me down!
