It has been cold here this week, cold but dry mainly and the light on a sunny day has been extraordinary. Yesterday as the afternoon drew to a close we went up the hill to see if we could catch a sunset – they have been quite dramatic recently. But once up on the hill we could see a huge bank of clouds coming in from across the Celtic Sea. We hesitated. To continue up on the chance we might see the setting sun and risk getting caught in a downpour, or quit whilst we were ahead.

We continued.

And were rather glad that we did once we could see the surrounding sea. Both north and south of us the light on the water was astonishing. The water like a mirror, reflecting the colours of the sky.

We didn’t linger too long on the top of the hill, just long enough to capture the light and the clouds as the sun disappeared. We made it home just before that rain cloud burst.

      Thanks Graham. The light was incredible on the sea. Glad we went up to the top for a look. And we had waterproof coats on just in case!

      The clouds are wonderful here, except on days like today when they are solid grey and full of rain!
