Becky (the Queen of Squares) is dipping her toes back into blogging this month and encouraging us to get outside and take a few steps each day during November to help survive those endless grey days. And to share a photo or two while we are at it. Square of course.
Six miles to the south of us is St Michael’s Mount which I showed you a view of from ‘my’ hill on November 11th. Coincidentally on that day we were able to drive down to Marazion and pop over to the island to explore the village protected by its substantial harbour walls . At this time of year you have to check whether the causeway is open as no boats run in the winter months. Although it was a very dull and windy day we were fortunate to miss any of the rain.
So nice to have this site so close to you. The grey day gives it more atmosphere (for those of us not in your weather) so thanks for sharing it and braving the dampness!
Grey being the operative word, Jude. I’ve got something fishy over at mine. Will be back later to see your Lens Artist post.
That post will be at 5 pm as it is scheduled for noon EST.
Coming up soon then. I’ll put the kettle on 🤗💗
Getting dark here already, time to put the oven on. Roast chicken tonight 😋
We’re not long home from an excellent hike and leisurely lunch. Pork loin in port wine sauce 🤗🍷💗
Yummy! I like pork but the OH doesn’t so we rarely have it. You wouldn’t have fancied hiking here today. 🌧🥶
😗💖
A lovely British seaside scene.
and far nicer without all the crowds.
Agreed!
Beautiful.
Thanks John. It’s a tiny harbour, but quite charming.
I went to the mount as a child, and again in my 30s. It is a memorable place indeed.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I used to like visiting St Michael’s Mount – either by foot or boat depending on the tide.
We only go when the causeway is open, but I did go across by boat back in 1991 which was fun. A very short trip!
Love these little harbours.
perfect time of year to visit
