a year of flowers

The challenge this week is to show our favourite flowers and why they are favourites, but I have far too many favourites for many different reasons so I have decided to have a trawl through every month of the year and choose just one from the many. Mostly from my own garden, but all from the lovely Cornwall.

I can see why you can’t choose. They’re all lovely.

      1. Heyjude says:

I could have used a dozen flowers for each month. Or lots of tulips as they are perhaps my all-time favourite. But I do regular tulip posts each year so I thought I’d mix it up a bit.

  2. margaret21 says:

This is a tough challenge – especially for a flower-junkie like you. An excellent solution!

    1. Heyjude says:

      I know! Impossible to choose.

  3. Gorgeous, as always.
Oh, and I admire your restraint.

    1. Heyjude says:

Thanks Dawn, I could have picked a dozen for every month!

      1. Um…I kinda did. Mine posts on Friday and from reading everyone else’s i feel bad for not restraining myself more. But it is done. It is scheduled. I am not editing it again! lol

        1. Heyjude says:

Oh, I am sure I will enjoy the post

  4. johnrieber says:

I love that nature can deliver such beauty when simply left alone!

    1. Heyjude says:

I daren’t leave anything in my garden alone, it soon runs riot!

      1. johnrieber says:

Exactly – nature runs wild when left alone but the images are so spectacular!

  5. restlessjo says:

That montana used to scramble all over the fence, and the roof too if we didn’t watch it, back in the UK. I wonder if it’s still there?

    1. Heyjude says:

They can be a tad aggressive!

        1. Heyjude says:

I have to pop round into my neighbour’s garden to restrain this one!

  6. JohnRH says:

Great series. LOVE that magnolia shot. πŸ‘

    1. Heyjude says:

Sadly that one is NOT in my garden.

  7. I love them all but I think June’s foxgloves, lilies and geraniums is my favourite (that is probably not in the least bit surprising, is it?!) πŸ˜‚

    1. Heyjude says:

      Not at all πŸ˜‚

  8. Tina Schell says:

The perfect approach to the challenge Jude! I love all of your choices but if forced to choose I might go with November and April. When it comes to flowers you are among the true masters as your post so clearly shows. Terrific post!! So happy you could join us this week.

    1. Heyjude says:

Hard to resist this week Tina, and equally hard to select just 12 flowers. April is probably my favourite month with all those spring bulbs.

  9. bushboy says:

Lovely gallery Jude. I like how you selected by month. I had a hard time to stop. The question of why was difficult as the answer would have been “Because flowers1”

  10. Murtagh's Meadow says:

Beautiful choices. I think I will have same problem in finding just a few favourites
