      I was taking a photo of the Verbena as it has such interesting colours at this time of the year, the hoverfly is a bonus!

      I wasn’t sure what it was until I looked it up.

        We only get one snouted one here in Ireland but I have only known it by its scientific name, Rhingia campestris
