A Garden in Motion

Dappled sunlight filters through the trees

casting ever moving shadows

between the flickering

leaves.

Feathery grasses sway in the breeze,

Whilst butterflies perform acrobatic dances

in tandem.

Before coming to rest

on an attractive flower or leaf .

And lest we forget –

the bees.

Doing what bees do best.

Flitting from one flower to another

in search of pollen

and nectar.

And all the while

the birds crisscross the sky

clacking, cawing and mewing,

wings thrumming.

A garden is never still.

Not really a poet Tina, just sometimes odd lines come to me 😊

Poetry in motion…beautifully done, Jude! And true it is – a garden is never still.

  4. Your word and images have sent me out into the garden, they are so beautiful this time of year.

Always so much to see and hear in a garden. Sometimes I think we just don’t take enough time to be still and absorb what is around us, too busy looking at things that need doing!
