My favourite cloud formation.
Like a mackerel sky, but more feathery.
Wow – this is extraordinary. Have never seen a cloud like this. Beautiful.

I have seen a mackerel sky before, but never one that looked like this, the feathery shape was fascinating.

I usually pop outside around sunset just to see what is happening to the west of us, I was very happy to see this cloud!
I wonder if it was very windy up there. Lovely photo, Jude.
Apparently this type of cloud formation is caused by winds we can’t see.
They are amazing!
