April so far has a been one day warm sunshine and showers, the next frigid winds and mizzle. But the spring flowers still continuing to dazzle us with their beauty. This week something else from my own garden,
I am going to join in with Dawn’s Festival of Spring which will last for 10 -12 weeks in celebration of this season.

Wisteria normally early May here, I must visit Trelissick as they have a wonderful wall full of it.
Every park and lots of gardens here have oodles of it. Fabulous 😍

I grew up with wisteria in April, in northwest Florida. A September partial re-bloom’s fragrance made me think, “Ah! April!” The novel by Elizabeth von Arnim, The Enchanted April, features wisteria growing at the Tuscan Villa.

Gloomy but not terribly cold except at night. Days around the 50s allow for brief spells in the garden, and a spot of sunshine allows for a bit of tea in the garden.
It was hot in Surrey! Less so in Cornwall and only 10 degrees today, but the sun is shining and that’s all I am bothered about.

In central Washington state, spring is waking up still with periodic set-backs. My grape hyacinths, however, keep right on stunning with brilliance.
Grape hyacinths are such good value, they flower for weeks.
Beautiful as always! We’re having a decent Easter weekend in London and more and more things are flowering 🙂
I have just been down there this weekend – well south of London – and have loved seeing all the blossom trees in the streets and along the Thames. Beautiful. Far less wind down that part of the country and definitely hotter!
Beautiful! I think we had all our spring in March. Apart from yesterday, it’s been quite cold since.
Yes, the weather was much warmer at the end of March, but it was hot in Surrey this weekend – 22 degrees! Not so in Cornwall though. And back to 10 degrees here today. Good for the tulips though as they flop in the heat.

First time I have planted these and they suffered from the heat in March. I think they possibly need deeper pots too as they flop a lot.
I have made that mistake before!

As long as it is sunny I’m happy and the bulbs prefer cooler temperatures too.
