It’s been an awfully long time since I visited my favourite beach – lockdowns, summer tourists, illness, tide times and weather conspired against me during 2021 – but on a relatively warm day of sun and cloud last week combining with a low tide, I finally got to visit my former muse again.
This week we are asked to link up with another blogging challenge and since I’m no longer running one myself I thought of the one I have joined in with the most (other than this one) over the past four years and that is Becky’s Squares. She’s running a new theme in February too if you want to join in.

Your beautiful photographs are making me long for spring and a chance to walk along a sunny beach. One of the best pleasures in life!
We can see this beach from our house (well about a two minute walk away) but reaching it takes around 20 minutes and it seems that nowadays whenever it is sunny the NT car park there is full! It never used to be during the winter months. We have closer beaches, but again parking is an issue. As you say, walking on a beach is very relaxing, just listening to the waves is good. Where is your nearest beach then?
I used to dream about having a house near the coast somewhere in this area, but erosion is such a problem in the areas we like. Our nearest beach is probably Felixstowe but we prefer the North Norfolk beaches. You can have some wonderful walks up there, away from anything that might spoil them. Actually getting to the water can take ages of trekking for some of them though!
Yes, I like the north Norfolk coast too and we considered it as a location to move to, but house prices are very high along that stretch. Great salt marshes though and wonderful birdlife in the winter months.
Some of the more inland places in Norfolk are cheaper and we did wonder about it for retirement. But I reckon we’ll probably stay where we are.
Well you are in a lovely region and easy to travel up to north Norfolk.
We ‘re lucky to have the Broads fairly close. 🙂
