This month sees the end of the colour challenge that I was hosting over on Travel Words. It was great fun challenging myself and others to focus on one colour at a time each month. December was all about the mixing of bright colours and a round trip of just under 100 miles to visit the Eden Project on a very wet Monday was all about the kaleidoscopic colours.
Take a walk with me around the Biomes.
A sparkling bridge leads you to the entrance to the Biomes
It was an interesting afternoon and early evening visit, though driving there in the pouring rain wasn’t pleasant and my main objection to visiting the Eden Project after dark is that the way back to the car parks is not very well signposted and also very dark. Because of Covid restrictions they were not running the shuttle buses to the car parks either. And a plea to all car manufacturers, please don’t make your headlights quite so bright! I’m sure people aren’t travelling with their full beam on all the time, but the glare sure makes it seem so.
I shall take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
Wow, what fantastic lights.
But grrr on LED headlamps. They drive me crazy too!
Happy New Year 😍
Safe travels tomorrow, I guess you won’t be cracking open the bubbly at midnight 🍾🥂
We didn’t but the neighbours fireworks woke me up!!
We had the rain in common! Love no.5 in the meds and 3 in tropics in particular. Did you climb up there, or take all your shots from ground level? Beautifully done, Jude, seamlessly ending your colour series, I shall raise a glass to you later today. In fact, probably several glasses. Our plan has gone a little awry, but I’m sure we’ll all celebrate as we should, and look forward with hope. Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy ’22! And thanks for the link.
The route around the rainforest takes you up to the cloud bridge and rope bridge to the waterfall. The sky walk was closed 😊 health is very much what we all want I think. Enjoy your evening 🥂🍾
I seem to have delegated myself to be the hostess. Not my favourite role and I don’t have a Christmas cake! Onwards into a new year 🤣💗
Plenty of bubbly will suffice 🍾🍾
And cheese 🤔🎉🎈🥂💕
We coped. Just! Happy New Year, Jude 🥂💕
The Eden Project has been on my Must Visit list for so long. We really must get there. You’d welcome us, as our headlights are useless. We have to travel on full beam to pierce the gloom at any level, and nobody ever flashes us if we forget to dip them for oncoming traffic 😉 Happy, happy New Year..
Hahaha… yes those are the headlights I would prefer. Wishing you and your family a very happy new year too. 😁
I would love to see those one day
This is something I would enjoy! Thanks for capturing a bit of its glory. On to 2022!
And a good year, we all hope.
Those are just magnificent Jude. Thank you for sharing them with us. For once we share the rainy, windy weather with you. But ours is welcome and warm… I’ll also raise a glass to the hope that next year is going to be an improvement on this one just on its way out.
I got photos sent from Brisbane with my grandsons fishing off a pier, in their raincoats 😊🎣 still very warm though, as it is here! 15 degrees which makes it the warmest NYE on record.
Wow that is warm for an English winter. Woke to torrential rain this morning. Cyclone Seth has formed yesterday just off the coast. Heading our way. There will be flooding. What a start to 2022😳⛈
Fantastic photographs capturing the different colours. As you know Jude I am a big lover of Cornwall and have visited many many times since my first visit in 1979…and incredibly I have never visited the Eden Project. I really can’t explain why, I just seem to have never got round to it. Your post has shown me how wrong that is!
It’s quite lovely in the spring, but also an expensive place to visit.
I love the photos. As I keep saying in keeping with the end of a seder “next year in Cornwall.”
Like you, I hate driving at night on unlit roads. If it isn’t the full-beams, then it’s those ‘high-intensity’ headlights that seem to bore into my skull. I rarely drive anywhere after dark now, but the Eden Project at night does seem to be worth the risk.
Best wishes, and Happy New Year.
I find it difficult to drive in the absolute pitch black of the countryside. The glare of oncoming headlights totally blinds me. But we couldn’t get here without driving.
Very colourful. Happy New Year 🎆🎆
