No sun – no moon!
No morn – no noon –
No dawn – no dusk – no proper time of day
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member,
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds !

There have been a lot of cloudy days during this month of November – I remember that it was very common to have fog on Bonfire Night (5th November) when I was a child – and living up on a hill means that often we are actually in the cloud or fog for much of the day. Weirdly though when this photo was taken I could actually see the sky. The fog was in a layer over the field behind my house (which dips downhill) and was so dense I could not see the familiar sight of my lovely engine house, Wheal Alice.
