Anemone hupehensis var. japonica ‘Pamina’. Slender, dark-stained, branching stems carry long succession of neat, semi double flowers in shades of rose-pink, centred with a ring of golden stamens.
I’m not sure whether this one is as invasive as it is a cross cultivar and quite compact, though like all Anemone hupehensis it has a slight running habit. With my taller pink one I fid it quite easy to dig out if it tries to spread too far. The white one, ‘Wild Swan’ is much more compact. Thought to be a cross between autumn-flowering Anemone hupehensis and spring-flowering Anemone rupicola.
It is a lovely colour to have in the garden at this time of year. And I am so glad to see the bees! Hope it is not still dull and damp in Beetley! We are having some lovely days at the moment. I am sure it will all change by the end of the week.

Thanks Megan. Had to pop back indoors for the proper camera when I saw the bees on this plant. Should have used the macro lens but it was a bit too windy. Fortunately this lens creates a lovely blurry background.
Still got bucket loads of hope. I’m utterly gutted that I still can’t visit Les who is now hit the bottom with no white blood cells and very low red cells etc. Just a waiting game for the new donor cells to work. It will a long journey, luckily I am wearing my big girls pants and being strong 🙂
Not being allowed to see him must hurt, but I imagine it is the safest option for him at this point. Are you able to talk on the phone, or is he too ill at the moment?

I just planted a white one by a silver birch – could be the start of a white border… 🙂

Beautifully captured, Jude. It’s been a treat passing all these huge houses in Auckland and their spring flowering gardens.
