Bright Squares

April is a square month and this year Becky wants us to find the bright things in life. I had a few ideas all relating to Cornwall of course with my coruscating seas and cloudless skies, happy, shiny people and bright lights, but then I decided upon showcasing all the bright and beautiful flora found in the county as a tribute to theΒ first everΒ Squares in September 2017 which was all about flowers. So prepared to be dazzled.

Wasn’t that happy, there was a very long queue and it took over an hour! Lucky that the sun was shining, but it is a long time for some elderly people to be standing. Shame is that I couldn’t have mine done at the same time. I go on Thursday evening to a different site – hope they are on time!

Is this second vaccine? We’re still trying to sort first. Allegedly we have appointments tomorrow but I keep hearing that the local centre doesn’t open until next week. Spoilt a happy day and now Marie is back in hospital. 😦 😦

        3. Heyjude says:

Oh, no. That’s not good news on both accounts. Second jabs and I have booked a week away in May!

  5. This is such a beautiful glossy colour.

    1. Heyjude says:

Yes, one of the brightest ones. I have ordered some yellow ones (annuals) for the summer just for a change of colour.

    a work of art

    1. Heyjude says:

One of my favourite flowers, though once again I have lost my purple one over the winter!

      1. BeckyB says:

oh no 😦 really been a tough winter this year

        1. Heyjude says:

Less rain than last year! But the cold spell we had finished them off. I do have a couple of cuttings and oddly they survived, so maybe it was the location that is the problem. In a wall so shallow roots? I’ll try something else there.

        2. BeckyB says:

that’s true – but been a proper cold spring as you say, and always location, location, location says my mum when it comes to homes and also to plants!

        3. Heyjude says:

You any closer to finding a new location?

        4. BeckyB says:

We’re beginning to narrow down a few places, but more research needed.

    Fabulously rich colour!

    1. Heyjude says:

Yes, this one is a strong colour. I have ordered some yellow ones (not hardy) for the summer. A change of colour for me.

      1. Ann Mackay says:

        There’s a lovely range of colours – I think I’ll be tempted by them if I see them… πŸ™‚
