April is a square month and this year Becky wants us to find the bright things in life. I had a few ideas all relating to Cornwall of course with my coruscating seas and cloudless skies, happy, shiny people and bright lights, but then I decided upon showcasing all the bright and beautiful flora found in the county as a tribute to theΒ first everΒ Squares in September 2017 which was all about flowers. So prepared to be dazzled.

One of my favourites.
I have never grown this type, but these are such a lovely violet colour, maybe I should.
Yes!
I might have a tiny space to squeeze some in next year. Must remember where for the autumn!
How beautiful are these! I’ll do a happy dance with you, even though it’s raining here π π
ooh can you send your rain here, we have not had any for weeks!
A bit of reverse psychology going on here! The bougainvillea loves it though, and it was beautiful yesterday for the Carnation Revolution day. No- no parades! π¦ And the sun’s out now. Kwiksotic, or what? π π
Mum’s garden and mine are shouting for rain at the moment!
Makes a change! You in the wet, us in the dry.
Sun’s out again now. Just keeping us on our toes π π
This really is the most beautiful of tributes Jude – loving your bright florals this month
Thanks Becky, so many beautiful flowers down here, it’s like living in a different country. Although these irises can be grown anywhere of course.
you are so fortunate, are you sure you want to head back east?!
Not really. But it’s a long way for any of the kids to come if we need support. Another 5-10 years maybe
sounds sensible to plan ahead, make sure you do it a year or two ahead of when you think you need to though so you can enjoy the new place
I’m not sure I do sensible π
lol!!! Not many of us do . . . . however after dealing with the aftermath of not moving at the right time for parents, sister in law and how a 94 year old neighbour, I have decided this is one thing being sensible has huge benefits
You have a point. I would rather like to move and enjoy my final home. As long as I can drive we are OK here, but it is tricky when the car is serviced and I can’t get home. Taxis are very expensive.
Another beautiful bloom for us. π
I have always been fond of Irises. Lovely colours, Jude.
Best wishes, Pete. x
These are lovely. And I don’t think they grow too tall either. I need to investigate.
I do love dutch irises. Mine are in bloom right now. Such a beautiful color.
I should try some as they are gorgeous, but I have limited space now!
The Dutch Iris does take up a lot less room than a regular iris.
I pulled out my Iris pseudacorus as it had spread too much and was mostly leaf and not flower and the leaves were very untidy once it had stopped flowering, but I wouldn’t mind some of these Dutch ones.
The richness of the blue takes my breath away. Absolutely gorgeous.
This is a pretty colour combination I must say.
Thank you for the beautiful bright on my Monday morning.
You are most welcome Frank. Beautifully bright here again today, but still that wind blowing in from the Arctic.
Fab!
I so adore this photo π
They do look like they are dancing don’t you think?
