April is a square month and this year Becky wants us to find the bright things in life. I had a few ideas all relating to Cornwall of course with my coruscating seas and cloudless skies, happy, shiny people and bright lights, but then I decided upon showcasing all the bright and beautiful flora found in the county as a tribute to the first ever Squares in September 2017 which was all about flowers. So prepared to be dazzled.

Cosmos are lovely too. I keep meaning to plant some in my front garden and haven’t yet done it. I must do that in spring.
They really are a joy.
Beautiful Cosmos. I only started growing them a couple of years ago – madness.
I have had them in containers for several years, but last year they grew too tall and I found these colourful ones didn’t flower as well as the white ones that I had in a raised bed.
Mine are already budding for this year!
Someone sowed seeds early! I haven’t tried yet, but I do have some on order for May.
Only thought I was a week or so early until I saw the buds!!!
Surely these aren’t this year’s? Lovely, anyway!
No, last year’s. I am only having the white ones this year.
Day 10 already! Time flies when you’re having fun 🙂 🙂 I like Cosmos too and this is a lovely shot.
A lovely delicate looking flower that looks good in the borders wafting in the wind.
Very bright, and pink too. Two challenges in one!
Best wishes, Pete.
Indeed. I seem to have quite a few pink flowers!
Aaah, Cosmos
😊
Oooh, I like the delicate cosmos plants – I have planted seeds this year so keeping my fingers crossed for a good showing.
I have ordered some seedlings for a May delivery, but I might still attempt to sow some seeds. Last time I did that though the seedlings were eaten as soon as they went outside!
Pink too!
I know! Pink is everywhere at the moment. Seems I have a lot of pink flowers.
Love cosmos. I thought I’d lost most of mine because it’s been so dry, but rain over the last week has brought them back to life, and they appear to be self-seeding all over the place.
I wish mine would self seed, but they don’t 😒
Is t it always the way. I’m beginning g to think that pretty much anything will grow in Auckland — whether we want it or not 😬
An ideal climate then.
It would appear that way. Not sure our growing tendency towards dry summers/autumns will help though.
I’d love a dry period. Saying that it has been relatively dry this month so far, though very cold.
