Hayle Harbour

SS 679: Dolly Pentreath a St Ives mackerel driver was the first new lugger in Cornwall for more than 60 years and is owned and was built by Norman Leity between January and May 1993. Norman’s son Mike works her out of St. Ives as a charter boat for fishing trips and occasional trips to Brittany. In for a spot of repair work I guess.

Oh she’s good for many a decade yet, surely?

She must have so many tales to share, hope she is kept even when the day comes for her to no longer sail

Poor old lass! Surprised how short a time it took to build her. Long may she chug along 🙂 🙂

Oh, let’s hope she’s back working soon

I’ll have to check if she’s still in the boat yard, but there is a lot of development going on around there so it’s difficult to get parking.

Dolly looks like she has great bones but may be in need of a wee makeover before heading back out to sea.💕

What a splendid boat. Actually looks in pretty good shape. A spot of paint and it’ll be back in the water.

Lovely boat, but no chance I would travel in that all the way to Brittany!
    Best wishes, Pete. x
