Spindrift,
Spoondrift,
Spray.
Silver foam.
Spume.
Shimmering
sunlit sea.
Sea fret
shielding
sea creatures,
submerged,
spinning.
Sea-pools
sparkling.
Salty,
seawater
swimming;
splashing.
Slimy
seaweed, slippery;
slithering.
Sea-birds strutting
along the stony strand.
Sea-shells
sighing; singing.
Silent sunsets,
slipping; sliding.
Soft sands
shifting,
Soles sinking.
Sherbet sunrises
skimming
across
the sky.
Stormy seas
shouting.
Seals swimming;
sleeping.
Secret
sun-dappled
shorelines.
Surfers surfing.
Sailors sailing.
Sun-hatted toddlers
squealing;
screaming
seagulls
stealing.
Salty,
sun-kissed
skin
shaking
droplets
of
cool
clear
seawater
on
the
seashore.
Great photos to accompany your wonderful poetry, Jude. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
Thanks Pete. I wouldn’t call it poetry really, just words strung together that hopefully feed your imagination.
Just words strung together can be most effective……
Thanks Sue. I wanted to leave out words so people could imagine what I meant – or make up their own visions.
And good thinking
Poetry for me, Jude. x
😊
Absolutely brilliant, Jude! All those sybillant S’s
More verbal than photographic, but I had this vision in my head that didn’t really need images. The words just flowed! Who knew there are so many S words connected to the seashore!
Who indeed!
Fabulous! I love your opening image and the list of S words I’d *S*uper-impressive
Is. Is. I spent all that time positioning the bloomin’ asterisks and missed a daft typo.
Glad you liked it Anabel. Hope it made you think of a day at the beach.
Wonderful! Your pics are pretty and the words made me giggle.
That’s lovely to know! I hope they conjured up a day at the beach for you.
Yes, they did. Thanks!
Superb post for this week’s lens artist challenge
Thank you MM.
That is such simply stunning symbolisms of the sea shore Jude. Made me smile. Well said with strikingly sun filled photos too
Thanks PP. It was such fun creating it!
A simply stunningly stupendous post, Jude. You’re mind is very creative in the wee hours. 👏🏻
Haha… yes, it sure looks like it!
Well thought out Jude 😀😀
Thanks Brian. Sometimes I get inspired 😂
You’ve excelled yourself both photographically and verbally. A lovely taste of the sea on a day when I won’t be walking near it. Thank you. It is good news from Queensland.
This is so lovely 😀
Thanks Becky.
