Persian ButtercupS
Always the optimist, Becky is hoping that 2021 will be a more positive year as we march onwards and upwards. Yes, the theme for January Squares is the word ‘up’ and as usual she invites us all to join her in a month of ‘ups’ of any description. The only absolute rule is that your main photograph must be SQUARE, and remember a square has 4 equal sides.
This one is all wishful thinking 🙂 🙂
You’re as bad as Margaret.
Margaret’s not bad! She’s a lovely soul 🤗💕. Flashback up yet?
Yup!
Sorry, not feeling great. Will get there in a bit 🙁💕
Oh, no. Hope it is nothing serious.
Just fluey! Grey day so I’ve stayed put. Watched Rafa and Thiem playing in Adelaide. That’s always a boost. 🙂 🙂 And with a crowd! Been to yours already.
What are you watching the tennis on then?
Rafa has a site on WordPress and it came up as a video in my Reader. Resourceful you know 🤣. Didn’t watch Halep and Barty but that should be entertaining too 👀💕
Gorgeous colours! Do these lovely flowers have another name? 🙂
Ranunculus.
How beautiful, though I’d have thought buttercups had to be, by definition, yellow?
Now don’t get all technical on me.
Teehee !
oh don’t these look wonderful in a big bed 😀
Eden Project. Stunning.
I had never even heard of a Persian Buttercup, Jude. Lovely colours.
Best wishes, Pete. x
They are fabulous, but I have yet to attempt to grow them.
Nor had I, Pete!
All part of the Ranunculaceae family which includes clematis and anemones too!
Oh, right!l
Fabulous colour!
They certainly cheer you up!
Defo!
Not what I associate with January, but very cheerful (which I guess is the idea!).
Well they are have a hidden UP which is the reason I chose them, but they are also very cheerful.
Simply gorgeous. I had very few ranunculi during spring, so these are a feast for the eyes.
They are lovely. I must grow some next year, though maybe not this many.
Wonderful bright colours
I saw the main photo and thought they look like ranunculus not buttercups and then I read the tags and the comments. Tricky! They’re quite beautiful. Mr ET always grows them every spring.
They are gorgeous. I must give them a go. Does Mr ET grow them in the ground or pots?
He grows them directly in the ground. Last year he had one long bed and he grew flowers and veges all together. It looked lovely.
