Square January #5

Anthemis cupaniana (white Sicilian chamomile )

Always the optimist, Becky is hoping that 2021 will be a more positive year as we march onwards and upwards. Yes, the theme for January Squares is the word ‘up’ and as usual she invites us all to join her in a month of ‘ups’ of any description. The only absolute rule is that your main photograph must be SQUARE, and remember a square has 4 equal sides.

    1. Heyjude says:

Sadly it has disappeared from this spot, but it’s growing beautifully on the Cornish hedge. As long as we don’t get snow!

      1. BeckyB says:

guess what we have falling at the moment!!

        1. BeckyB says:

          It has stopped, thank goodness!

  2. BeckyB says:

PS and a very clever hidden UP

    1. Heyjude says:

You did say ‘ups’ of any kind!

      1. BeckyB says:

I do I did, but this is soooo clever 😀

        1. Heyjude says:

Well, I didn’t want too many looking up at things so have been somewhat inventive.

        2. BeckyB says:

          Inventive is good 🙂

  3. margaret21 says:

Yes, clever. But any excuse to showcase this lovely photo.

    1. Heyjude says:

Thank you. I have taken advantage of the ups in Latin names.

  4. Tish Farrell says:

This is a very optimistic shot too, Jude.

    1. Heyjude says:

This one died in the beast from the east, but luckily I had cuttings. It is an easy plant to propagate. Now growing all along the Cornish hedge.

      1. Tish Farrell says:

That sounds lovely. A good reminder to take cuttings when one can.

  5. restlessjo says:

    Nifty! 🙂 🙂

Looks great in the big close up, Jude.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. Heyjude says:

It’s a very giving plant Pete, flowers for absolute ages, doesn’t seem to get eaten by anything, and you can easily take cuttings. I just pull a bit off and stick it in the ground!

    1. Heyjude says:

It is. And flowers from early spring until December. In fact I bet there are buds on it even now.

  7. Cathy says:

I very am impressed with your perceptive ‘ups’ Jude!

    1. Heyjude says:

      Thank goodness for Latin names.

      1. Cathy says:

Haha – yes! But do give yourself credit for using them this way

let's have a conversation...
