last photo and first square

Brian (aka Bushboy) is running a monthly challenge where he asks you to post the last photo on your SD card.

The rules are simple:
1. Post the last photo on your SD card or last photo on your phone for December.
2. No editing – who cares if it is out of focus, not framed as you would like or the subject matter didn’t cooperate.
3. You don’t have to have any explanations, just the photo will do
4. Create a Pingback to this post or link in the comments
5. Tag “The Last Photo”

Bottoms Up (Cheers)

Always the optimist, Becky is hoping that 2021 will be a more positive year as we march onwards and upwards. Yes, the theme for January Squares is the word ‘up’ and as usual she invites us all to join her in a month of ‘ups’ of any description. The only absolute rule is that your main photograph must be SQUARE, and remember a square has 4 equal sides.

I usually like square photos. They remind me of those taken on the old 6 X 6 cameras.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. Heyjude says:

Well this one was done to send to the family group to wish them a happy new year. I don’t usually photograph my food and drink!

  2. BeckyB says:

Do you know we haven’t had any bubbly this year – maybe I’ll persuade MrB to have some today. Bottoms up!

    1. Heyjude says:

Haha… we had a bottle last year from my Aussie son which we received in October, forgot about it at Christmas, missed New Year, missed Easter – and finally opened it in August when my recent grandson was born! Since then we have been drinking more sparkling wine. I love it!

      1. BeckyB says:

I need to move next door to you!

        1. Heyjude says:

I’ll get the cattle to move out then 😀

  3. bushboy says:

Staged or not a great last photo Jude. I hope you enjoyed it. Like Becky, I didn’t have any NYE bubbles either.
    Thanks for joining in 🙂

    1. Heyjude says:

My first English one and it was actually very nice, quite dry which we like.

      1. bushboy says:

Oh yes must be dry Where is the vineyard?

        1. Heyjude says:

Kent. Though there are a couple here in Cornwall.

        2. bushboy says:

          Boutique wine would be expensive?

        3. Heyjude says:

This was part of a xmas box I bought, usually fairly expensive though. I am hoping to take the OH to one here for lunch on his birthday if we are allowed out by then! (End of May).

        4. bushboy says:

Anything around $15 I tend to range at. $20 and up is considered thought 😀

        5. Heyjude says:

          We usually choose £10 – 12, occasionally £14
There are a lot of the cheaper bottles in the supermarket, but not so good.

        6. bushboy says:

We found some supermarket wines in France and Italy were OK but not recommended for elegant dining 😀 😀

  4. eklastic says:

Nothing like a few bubbles rising up and bursting on the surface to remind us of the expectations for the next day, the next year! Have a good one!

  5. Sue says:

    Happy New Year!

    1. Heyjude says:

😁 and you Sue. Fingers crossed for a happier ending this year!

      1. Sue says:

        Thanks, Jude!

  6. restlessjo says:

Pretty bannister! 🙂 🙂 Cheers, m’dear! I’m not actually fussy on fizz but I was drinking it at Marie’s last night. Kept me sober, I suspect, but I had a Baileys when I got back.

    1. Heyjude says:

Fizz goes to my head much more easily than white wine, but I confess to having a couple of Baileys towards the end of the evening (or early morning) although I do find it too sweet for me.

  7. margaret21 says:

That’s a great and appropriate photo for this time of year. Cheers!

  8. Su Leslie says:

Lovely image Jude. I haven’t had bubbly since Christmas. It just didn’t seem like the right pairing with my NYE pizza picnic 🤣🤣

    1. Heyjude says:

I can drink fizz with anything except curry 😂

      1. Su Leslie says:

        I should experiment more!

  9. Cheers! Indulged in some bubbles ourselves tonight (last night was for whisky).

  10. I’m quite ashamed not to have thought of ‘bottoms up’! Lovely photo, too.

    1. Heyjude says:

Ah, yes, I must admit I was expecting bubbly from you!
