Nice and appropriate for today, Jude. They won’t be forgotten as long as most of us ‘oldies’ are alive. I hope it carries on through the next generations too.
Best wishes, Pete. x
He was diagnosed at 42 and was in a home 10 years later. It seems to affect men quite rapidly, he deteriorated very quickly. But he kept his sense of humour.
π¦ That’s interesting about men being affected more rapidly. We have another, woman, friend who was diagnosed in her early 30s and seems to have longer periods of remission/wellness than either of the blokes we know with MS.
I think being able to hold on to humour is a wonderful gift, for both the sufferer and friends and family.
“In Flanders Field” was a poem we all memorized in November in seventh grade. I will always associate poppies with that poem. Lovely image on such a sad day.
A beautiful image. We will indeed remember.

Also today is 9 years since my younger brother’s funeral. A horrible wet and grey day. So this date has a very personal meaning too.
Sad indeed, Jude. And whatever the weather, there’s no getting past that memory.
Indeed. Rather put me off attending another funeral service.
We certainly will!
We will, beautiful poppies.
So to hear itβs a sad anniversary for you personally Jude.
It was a horrible day, but he’d been suffering for a long time with MS. Only 63 when he died.
MS is terrible. We have two friends with quite recent diagnoses: both younger than us. And 63 seems very young to me these days π

A poignant image,Jude
A photo taken during the first lockdown when I was exercising near the beach.
