Saturday Sketches #1

To fill in the dreary winter months when my garden is not very exciting (and usually too wet to go out and find anything to photograph anyway) I am taking a break from the Six on Saturday meme. I am going to post some photos that have been taken on my phone and edited with some of the different photo editing effects. Hence Saturday Sketches! Sadly nothing to do with my artistic talents – more the lack of!

Penzance Harbour – September 29 2020 – coloured pencil

A bright and cheerful start. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We’ve left the dark side behind this morning too. All newly washed and fresh. Have a good weekend!

Yes, you have sent it in our direction. Dense cloud this morning πŸ˜•

Sorry! We’re back to blue πŸ˜ŠπŸ’™πŸ’™

Wonderful use of the effects Jude πŸ™‚

    1. Heyjude says:

      Having fun playing 😊

  3. That’s a clever effect. I’ve missed seeing boats and blue sky in Cornwall this summer.

We haven’t been to the coast much either – far too many visitors for my liking and the smaller harbour towns are not conducive for social distancing. But we had to pop into Penzance so it seemed a perfect opportunity for some photography. And lunch!

      1. We always used to eat at The Alverne in Penzance.

Not tried that one, we tend to head off to the harbour or somewhere on Chapel Street.

Oh what fun. I’m going to enjoy seeing your experiments. This is so summery.

    1. Heyjude says:

And yet it was taken at the end of September! But blue skies and colourful boats always seem summery.

  5. What…WHAT! Six-on-Saturday without my personel spel-chequer? Saturday won’t be the same. Perhaps make a few impromptu guest appearances. Pretty pictures and clever effects. Look after yourself, Jude. πŸ™‚

    1. Heyjude says:

Haha.. you won’t get away that easily, I shall be visiting πŸ˜‰

  6. I thought you’d got a secret talent there before I opened to read. Nice cheerful picture though.

No, just a clever phone app. Of course someone still needs to take the photo 😜

That’s a good start to an interesting series, Jude. We are having our third day of brilliant sunshine. It is lovely to see, but sadly so low in the sky we have had to close the curtains in the living room. Otherwise we can’t see anything!
    Best wishes, Pete. x

Sadly our few days of sunshine has come to an end, cloudy here, but at least it is dry. I really hope we have a drier winter than last year, that was awful.

  8. Su Leslie says:

Lovely idea Jude. The coloured pencil effect works really well on the shot.

    1. Heyjude says:

Some effects are better than others and it all depends on the actual photo whether it works. But it’s fun playing, and there’s nothing else to do at the moment!.

        1. Heyjude says:

          How’s your mum?

        2. Su Leslie says:

Doing ok; thank you. She’s waiting for appointments for various tests, but has been feeling better.

        3. Heyjude says:

Oh, good. A worrying time. But sounds positive.

        4. Su Leslie says:

Yes. I must say she’s had really good care.

    Very pretty

    1. Heyjude says:

Thank you. Plenty of time to play right now!

Ah Jude you sucked me in 🎨. Love the effects you have on your phone. Lovely summery scene. How’s the lockdown going?

    1. Heyjude says:

You would sketch this scene beautifully for real 😊 lockdown is no different for us as we never really came out of the first one, we stay at home and stayed away from people if we did venture out.

      1. pommepal says:

It would make a beautiful water colour
