A few years ago, when we first moved to Cornwall, this lighthouse captured my imagination and I loved visiting the area to photograph it. Sadly this year my only views have been from afar, close to home. In early spring when it is usually quiet(ish) in Cornwall we were told not to venture far from home. Although this location isn’t far, it certainly isn’t within walking distance, so I kept away even though I was itching to walk along that beach. Then in July when we were allowed to travel more, the crowds of tourist descended on Cornwall and there was no way I was going to any beach let alone this one. When schools went back to school this month I decided that I would go there, though not on a weekend. Luckily Monday was a glorious day – warm, clear skies and no wind. And for the first time this year I have been able to visit my muse.

A perfect day for a perfect spot. Hordes of people would ruin it.
Which is why I avoid it during July and August!

And not busy at all. What a lovely outing and even more special when you had to wait a while.
It’s such a lovely place. Unspoilt so retains that wild and natural look, though there are holiday villages in the dunes not too far away.
That’s my favourite sort of beach – still unspoilt. 🙂 I haven’t had a walk along a beach in a long while now – hopefully next year will bring more chances to do so! It must have been very frustrating for you not to be able to visit the beach when the tourists descended on it – I’m glad you had the opportunity eventually.

It did! Recharged my batteries for a while. In fact I need to do this every month at least. Regardless of the weather!
