How are you faring in this time of plague? Are you feeling restricted? I’m lucky in that I can still pursue my usual walks without penalty. I just read a poem that expresses I think what you’re doing. It’s called “The way we love something small”, in this case the toenails of a mouse. The poet has written a whole series of what she calls “small epiphanies”: what your post epitomises perhaps.
Not so sure about mice at the moment, we seem to have a rat in our border 😦 which means we can’t leave the conservatory door open in this lovely warm weather. You are lucky that you can walk to your beach, but I guess shopping is more difficult? Or is your son doing that for you? I’m somewhat resigned now to walking around the lanes here, at least I have that!
Hugo shopped once – and told me I deserved a medal for doing it weekly! Ordered online, and got my first home delivery yesterday. I’m very lucky. Especially today. Lowish tide at daybreak, so I’m off for an early walk. Stay well and content in your lovely garden and spring.
No online deliveries here – all full up for weeks ahead. Luckily I can go out and shop, where I go is very quiet, only 25 people allowed in at a time and queuing outside in the sunshine was nice today. I have learned to be very patient. But the beach was tantalisingly in view on my drive home…
We went to Fakenham shopping on Thursday and there were some 200 customers queuing and waiting for admission at Morrison’s … so we skipped it and went to Lidl, well stocked and organised. I have always used online shopping, no chance to get a slot now, but lots of local stores at doing home deliveries. 🙏🏻
Oh, goodness I wouldn’t wait in a queue that long either. Luckily my local Tesco (a small branch) is very quiet. It is in a place where there are a lot of holiday homes and lets so much quieter than usual at the moment.

The view is gorgeous, Jude. Love the green collage. Do you have lots of Alexander in Cornwall too?
Oh, yes! The lanes are full of them at the moment and I have a post coming up of them. Everything is green and white and yellow at the moment.
Beautiful and bright spring foliage, Jude. 😍
