St Ives Harbour Beach. December 2019. Click to enlarge.
St Ives harbour beach at a very low tide showing how you can walk on the sand around to Porthminster beach . What must it be like to live in one of those clifftop houses?
I like the boat baubles. We were very briefly in St Ives this summer (for just an hour). It was very busy and a seagull stole a big bite off my pasty. I’d have loved to stayed a while but my sweetheart thought an hour enough.
I like your baubles Jude π
Well, I suppose your answer is surrounded by tourists in the summer, Jude, but in winter you’re on a winner π π And free baubles too!
As long as the house isn’t just a little too close to the edge… π
Lovely colours, Jude.
Best wishes, Pete. x
HowβS the weather where you are, Jude? Hope you are safe from floods
Rain, rain and more rain, but I live practically on the top of the highest hill in the west so no danger of flooding. Just a damp wall on the conservatory π©
Thank goodness for that, I was hearing of floods in Cornwall
Yes, our local town, Hayle, was badly hit yesterday. Blocked drains and constant rain hasn’t helped.
Thatβs the place….Hayle had me thinking of you…
Thank you for thinking of me βΊοΈ
The views must be amazing.
haha, they DO look like baubles!
π
Pete and I have both written about houses sliding over hillsides. Those look to be further back from the edge, so maybe they will stay put.
Beached boats at low tide always strikes me as interesting. Add in the coloured baubles at this time of year and it makes me smile π
Merry Christmas, Jude!
And you Jo. Festive fun with those boys of yours?
Yes, they were home! They always liven things up π

It’s terribly busy in the summer, we rarely go into the town even though it’s the closest one to us. Very picturesque, but yes, very naughty seagulls!
Ahh that’s the time to see St Ives, but even winter must be busier than a few years ago.
