On Wednesday we were without electricity for 9 hours. So instead of staying in an unheated house with no means of heating any food or drink we took the opportunity to head over to Trebah Gardens on the Helford River for lunch and a stroll. In winter the garden is not so colourful so I decided to take a more abstract view of the many sub-tropical plants, looking for unusual shapes, textures and light or subtle changes.

Thank goodness the weather was suitable for a stroll as 9hrs is a long time to be without power! Guessing you knew in advance
oh crikey just realised I didn’t say anything about your gorgeous abstracts – they are lovely xxx
We were informed the week before and were watching the weather forecast closely! Plan B was the art galleries in Penzance.
must have been something major for them to switch off for that long at this time of year!
Routine maintenance apparently, to update the lines and reduce the risk of power cuts! Must be a rural thing. I’ve never come across this before.
Really?! Hmmmmm……bet there’s no compensation for the inconvenience!
I believe the wording was “we hope this doesn’t cause any inconvenience”. 9 hours without heat and light in December?
Surprised your local press didn’t pick up on it.
Thank you ☺️
