cornwall in colours

A short stroll along a harbour quay, cautiously peering into moored fishing boats  (there are no railings to prevent you from falling into the water) provides a photo opportunity for capturing the colours of Cornwall. Even on a dull November day, there are glimpses of cheerful bright colours to warm the soul. Not the fingers though. The fingers were eventually too cold to click the button.

Colourful buckets full of colourful rope sit on the deck. More colourful rope tied to cleats and bollards on the quay just waiting for an unsuspecting pedestrian to walk by. Best to watch where you are going.

This warehouse across on the East Quay with its row of piled up bright blue buckets contrasting against the golden stone and damp, blackened walls, corrugated roof lined with moss and lichens intrigues me. What are those buckets used for? Lobsters? Crabs?

A last look at the wonderfully curved rusty red roof, which first caught my eye with that fabulous dilapidated door.

Great sequence, Jude, even though I did almost take a tumble 🙂 :). Love the rusted bollard, and those buckets make beautiful squares!

Your kind of place Jo, though much less pretty than Tavira.

Thanks for the display of colour 🙂

Just watch those ropes Sue! Most of the old industrial stuff has gone and I suspect this will too if plans for development go ahead.

How fabulous . . . . . .and I know the feeling of cold fingers on buttons well! I have found fingerless gloves to be the answer

I have some, but this was a spur of the moment thing after leaving the supermarket!

Good to see so many bright colours standing out.
Up here at the moment, the dominant colour is ‘Mud’. 😦
    Best wishes, Pete. x

Frozen mud by the weekend by all accounts!

I won’t mind. It has been raining since midnight! 😦

Love those colours – especially on these grey days!

One of my sons found me some “military” handling gloves – great for using the camera in the cold.

Thanks for the tip. I wasn’t intending to take photos so these were with my phone as I took the opportunity of a dry 10 minutes 😊

I laughed at the No Parking sign on that door. I would hesitate to drive that close to the edge anyway.

      I had the same thought!

  8. Lovely photos Jude, they really tell a story. These days I’m very careful about where I put my feet, so I’d be avoiding all those ropes.

  9. So much rich color here, Jude. I love the colorful ropes in the buckets, the blue buckets, the rust-colored roof and the corrugated roof lined with moss and lichens. It makes me feel like I’m walking along the harbor quay myself. I can even feel the cold biting my fingers! Thanks so much for the link. I’ll add it to my next photography post of December 5. 🙂
