Hayle: Penpol Creek

penpol creek from penpol terrace on a stormy November day

During a brief interlude from the heavy showers that have been hammering the south-west for what seems weeks now, I had a little wander along Penpol Terrace after my session with the chiropractor. The planting alongside the creek has improved over the years and is rather lovely, especially in the summer months when the beds are full of large blue Agapanthus. This is part of the Hayle in Bloom / Heyl ow Pleujyowa scheme.

That tree clearly has an urge to go out to sea!

Looks like my kind of place. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Bet there aren’t too many leaves on those trees now. Glad the chiropractor is helping.

      Helping decrease my bank balance!

You’re worth it ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m just back from a free session on ‘chi’, conducted all in French. Serves me right for being nosy! An interesting day, because our Portuguese teacher took us to the market this morning. I bought leeks and peppers and 2 huge slabs of cake ๐Ÿ™‚ We ate roast chestnuts on the way back and I’m wondering how on earth I’m going to eat supper. Might leave mine till late because I’ll have to go to Marie’s to watch Rafa.

        1. Heyjude says:

Watching Rafa now, not playing so well tonight ๐Ÿ˜ข

        2. restlessjo says:

Darn! Zverev played rather well. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ And how come you get to watch it?

Alex helped me buy a new phone and I got Amazon Prime free with the contract ๐Ÿ˜€

          Smart! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

He’s not paying the contract! It is a nice phone though. All my recent photos are from the phone.

Even on a ‘bad weather’ day, it is still a very attractive spot, Jude. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Best wishes, Pete. x

You’ll see it on a sunnier day shortly Pete, though probably only a week between photos! Very cold today and windy – again!

Itโ€™s a lovely spot Jude, but those clouds look threatening. Iโ€™m glad the chiropractor is helping (cost notwithstanding).

    1. Heyjude says:

Thanks Su, fortunately the sessions are over now with a review in Feb. Just a deep tissue massage to come to try and resolve a neck / shoulder problem. Hey ho, it’s only money!

      1. Su Leslie says:

Hope the massage helps. I have an ongoing โ€œdiscussionโ€ with my doctor about how the state and medical insurers will fund drugs and surgery, but if I want help improving my health naturally, itโ€™s up to me to pay. Physiotherapist was the best thing I had for my knee, and has made a huge difference to my mobility, but it wasnโ€™t funded โ€” while drugs and knee replacement surgery would be. Sorry … my pet gripe.

I had several Physio appointments on the NHS but all they did was to give me exercises to do which I couldn’t do due to the pain! A waste of time.

My physio did quite a lot of massage before she gave me exercises to do. And they started off quite gentle โ€” to get the muscles working well enough for proper exercise. Maybe thatโ€™s why it was so expensive ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

That’s November for you, we have had wind and rain too, awful. Still, what a lovely view.

  6. pommepal says:

A very dramatic sky Jude and Iโ€™m sympathetic about your back because for the first time I am suffering with aches and pains and donโ€™t know why. Doc visit tomorrow so maybe some physio will help

    1. Heyjude says:

Well I hope your physio is better than mine! I was just examined and given exercises, no massage. I couldn’t do the exercises because of the pain! Any idea yet as to what caused your seizure?

      1. pommepal says:

Had MRI yesterday, may have results tomorrow.
