My Launderette

This stunning mural is on the wall of the launderette that is next door to my GP’s surgery in Stennack, St Ives. It is a huge mural that takes up the whole side of the St Ives launderette. It depicts a man, a woman and a little dog in fishing boat SS226. There is the Cornish St Piran’s flag, lobster pots, the harbour and an engine house (tin mine). It is by the freehand aerosol artist Sketch86.

The only one I have found in St Ives, but I have seen a couple of interesting murals in Penzance.

On the side of the building too, but very noticeable if you walk up the hill towards the launderette.

Yes, this is very nicely done, almost looks like a chalk drawing.

That’s a good one indeed, Jude. For some reason I didn’t expect to see such things in St Ives, even given the artistic associations of the town.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

It is the only one I have seen Pete, and then only because I used the car park nearby once. It is a little way out of the actual town.
