This stunning mural is on the wall of the launderette that is next door to my GP’s surgery in Stennack, St Ives. It is a huge mural that takes up the whole side of the St Ives launderette. It depicts a man, a woman and a little dog in fishing boat SS226. There is the Cornish St Piran’s flag, lobster pots, the harbour and an engine house (tin mine). It is by the freehand aerosol artist Sketch86.
Lens Artists Photo Challenge #45 | Street Art
St Ives isn’t a place I associate with street art, but quality is better than quantity. This is wonderful, it encapsulates so much of the town. My favourite part is the harbour beach swirl, what a talented artist!
You would think being an artist’s town there would be more street art, but I haven’t found it if there is! I love that swirly harbour too, in fact I love that harbour. Have a fabulous shot coming soon.
Some people are so clever. This is a nice work of art.
For an artist’s town we are very short on street art, but I love the swirling harbour on this painting.
It is amazing
I wish there was such lovely street art where I live. I just see the same spray painted names
That’s the sort of graffiti I really hate.
And it hasn’t changed in 50 years. I was just commenting on that to my daughter as we rode the train to Philadelphia passing lots of it.
Fantastic public art telling story
Amazing! Takes some skill to get the right angles there…
These street artists fascinate me with the size of ‘canvas’ they work with. I’m amazed at how they can visualize their art on such a large scale.
