Hayle Towans
At low tide it sometimes appears as though you could easily walk around the coast to St Ives (header photo) especially when it is an exceptionally low tide and the Hayle river with its strong currents almost disappears.
inspired by the colours of the land, sea and sky of Cornwall
Have people been daft enough to attempt it, Jude?
I imagine they might. I have not seen the river so low before so it could be possible. Trouble is you never know what might be under the water.
Exactly
Do they still have a sign that reads ‘Three Miles Of Golden Sands’, I wonder? That always impressed me as a child.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I’ll get the OH to take a photo of the sign into Hayle next visit. Do you know, I have no idea if it mentions the beaches!
It’s a beautiful spot, very lovely seen from the train too. π
Stunning and what a beautiful blue sky, we haven’t seem much of that round here lately.
That’s a lovely shot, Jude π π
Looked lovely today too, though from across the bay in St Ives. A rare visit by us!
