big can be beautiful

Last night we saw another of the fabulous autumn sunsets that light the sky for half an hour or more at this time of year. Starting with pretty yellow hues at just after 6 pm and then deepening into orange and scarlet by 6:36 pm.

Watching the crows heading to their roost as the sun sinks below the hill
More of the high level cloud catches the glow of the setting sun
Twenty minutes later and the sky is on fire

Jude, beautiful pictures!! Especially love the blue tones in the second image.

    1. Heyjude says:

A lovely blue / green sky tonight too. I love the sunsets we get here.

    1. Heyjude says:

Wow indeed! Tonight wasn’t bad either πŸ™‚

  3. Lucid Gypsy says:

Yes last nights sunset was incredible, I was driving to Ikea so I couldn’t get a good shot!

    1. Heyjude says:

At least you got to see it.

  4. How beautiful – and to have the colours for so long is wonderful. I’ve finally managed to see (but not photograph) a couple of lovely sunsets here recently but they are over and done with so quickly!

    1. Heyjude says:

Tonight was also lovely but it didn’t last as long or go as red. I might have to do another week of sunset posts at this rate πŸ™‚

      1. Oh yes, another week of sunsets would be lovely. πŸ™‚

  5. You must be in the perfect position to see these glorious sunsets, Jude. This one is wonderful.

    1. Heyjude says:

We are! Facing due west πŸ™‚

  6. Amy says:

Breathtaking, Jude! An excellent choice for this theme. πŸ™‚

  7. restlessjo says:

    Glorious πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

  8. Su Leslie says:

Stunning. And so nice to have interesting but inobtrusive plants silhouetted in the foreground. We get beautiful sunsets, but peeping out from behind big trees.

    1. Heyjude says:

It is nice here that we have big open sky. And not many trees!
