Happy birthday. We have that sign in our kitchen in green.

    1. Heyjude says:

I rather fancy it for my new ‘Orangery’. Green would be good.

Oh, I happened on that a good few years ago, soon after my health took a turn for the worst, and I regularly said to people that I was learning to dance in the rain…. And we must remember, “it’s not the years in our lives, but the life in our years”!!

    1. Heyjude says:

I like that Sue. I must remember that.

      1. Sue says:

I think we can both say we have had plenty of life in our years so far, and here’s to more!

Not only dance in the rain but doing a #nakedraindance is the best. Rain falling on the skin is invigorating. Always celebrate the coming of the rains after a dry spell. Get out there and dance dance dance

    1. Heyjude says:

Naked in OUR rain? You have to be kidding. I’d freeze to death πŸ˜‰

      1. bushboy says:

        I guess so πŸ™‚

PS happy birthday. may the day be one of joy πŸ™‚

Time to start counting backwards now I think!

There has been a LOT of rain in Beetley over the past six years.
But I confess that any increase in my age has never inspired me to dance in it. πŸ™‚
    Have a great day, Jude.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. Heyjude says:

Thanks Pete. Dull, foggy and definitely not a day to inspire dancing.

  7. Very wise! Keep dancing, but not like Theresa.

    1. Heyjude says:

No. That was somewhat cringeworthy. What was she thinking!

I love that quote and coincidentally it is pouring outside this morning. During this rainy week I’ve been hunkering down and doing a lot of cleaning and reading. I’d like to think of that as a different kind of dancing because both have given me great satisfaction πŸ™‚

    1. Heyjude says:

Haha… I have been in the cleaning mode too, but we have had our conservatory roof replaced so there has been a lot of dust and dirt around, which makes normal cleaning pointless. But I did notice a lot of cobwebs so have been around the house with the cobweb brush!

      1. Joanne Sisco says:

Gaaaah – those damn spider webs at this time of year! For 3 mornings in a row I had to clean out a spider web in the same spot. Tenacious little critter :/

  9. janesmudgeegarden says:

β€˜Let your life lightly dance on the edges of time like a raindrop on the tip of a leaf β€˜ ….with apologies to Rabindranath Tagore for a slight misquote. Happy birthday, Jude.

    1. Heyjude says:

Ah, that’s a nice one. And thank you Jane πŸ™‚

  10. Happy Birthday Jude! Love what you said here – it’s very inspiring and thought provoking. I just turned 65 this year and I realized I better start dancing before my legs won’t cooperate any more.

    1. Heyjude says:

That’s the trouble with legs (and hips) as they get older, they no longer want to cooperate! My brain sends signals but my joints simply shrug them off as if to say “you’ve got to be kidding!”
