The golden hour is the period of time the colour of the sky goes from red and orange to yellow or, as its name suggests, golden tones, having a warm colour temperature.
Taken at 22:00 on 20th June after a day full of dull cloud. I really need to get to a beach to take this sort of photo!
I have thought about driving up to the coast to get some sunset shots, but I don’t relish having to drive home in the dark! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Well here it is usually light for a good hour after sunset so you should be alright.
Love your brush strokes 🙂
Love it!
Wow 22-00 and the sun just setting. How marvellous
Well the sun set at 21:35 on that day, but the sky erupts into colour after the sun sinks below the horizon and lingers for quite a while.
That is amazing, even in mid summer it is dark by about 8-30 over here
Like Pauline, I’m marvelling at those gorgeous colours in the sky at 10pm 😀
Sun set is around 21:40 and then it is light for around an hour after that.
😀 can’t think what I was doing all those years in the UK not paying attention to sunsets.
WOW! Anything else would be superfluous as a comment!
I’d have to travel to the other side of the continent for sunset over the sea! You do it for me. Although the sunset’s you’re featuring are more than satisfactory.
You’d have to time it right to drive to the sea!
Indeed. Several nights the colour just faded away without doing much. I might have a go at parking up at Godrevy one evening and see what happens. A year ago I did get a sunset over the sea at St Ives, but at the moment we are not getting any sunsets at all! Foggy, mizzle and rain – though today it looks as though it might clear.
Beautiful.
Magnificent colours! 🙂 🙂
