Welcome the ‘Sky Painter’ #2

Climbing up to the top of Trencrom Hill at 9 p.m is easy on a midsummer’s night (why is it midsummer when summer only began on 1st or 21st June depending whether you go by the meteorological or astronomical seasons, mid year would make more sense) as the sun is still in the sky. Coming back down is a little trickier though as it is well and truly dusk and yet still the sky is lit up at 10:30 p.m.

  1. Gorgeous. Those colours! I’m missing the long light summer evenings. Here the sun is setting about 8pm now.

Just gone down behind the hill now (21:16) and the sky is golden.

      1. We get some nice sunsets here, but I only remember one that matched any of yours for its fabulousness. Tonight’s was nothing special – perhaps a tiny pink tinge at the edge of the cloud.

I was going to ask whether you see some decent ones being on the west coast.

        2. Perhaps I am doing them a disservice and there are fabulous sunsets most nights, but I just miss them! There are nice ones, not just of the standard that you have been posting. 🙂
