Although these photos were taken a week ago, I thought they would be nice to feature on the longest day of the year for all of us in the northern hemisphere. The Lizard peninsula is a very special region of mainland Britain with diverse flora and fauna and as you can see from these images, a very beautiful place too.

Why is it that your winter seems to last half as long as ours? I guess you really only have two seasons – wet and dry!
This is amazing scenery. The variety and contrast in color is astounding.
The rocks are also an amazing colour – turquoise and purples.
