The last time I was here it was a very different story – A and I got totally soaked! I had to take my car in to the VW garage in Helston yesterday (an intermittent fault starting the engine) and seeing I was:
- already more than half way to the Lizard Point
- it was still only 10:30 am
- it was a low tide
- the sun was shining
although a little hazy, the sun was trying to break through and the temperature was rising so I decided to take a drive down to Kynance Cove, not intending to go all the way down onto the beach, but to take some photos of the views and the coastal flora.Β I also wanted to visit a garden down on the Lizard, which I have been meaning to for the last three summers!
So although the car investigation cost me a whopping Β£90 (no parts, just labour for cleaning some connections and running diagnostics!) it was a perfect day. Hot, sunny, though still somewhat hazy on the coast and I even found coffee and walnut cake at the garden. Sorry I ate it before thinking of taking a photo. Maybe if the weather holds I will return to the beach with my cozzie and actually have a dip. It did look soooo enticing.
That looks very enticing indeed, Jude. I hope you do make it back, but at least you got a stunning photo and walnut cake!
I got lots of stunning photos Cathy. Enough for a photo post for you I think π
Good, Jude. Can’t wait to see them!! π
Oh my goodness that is a wonderful photo! I donβt think I have enough turquoise in my life. Your morning sounds wonderful (apart from the bill). Yes, I dare you to swim next time.
If I get another day like yesterday before the schools break up I will give it a go! Maybe. π
The colours are glorious, from the blue of the water to those yellow rocks. What a wonderful way to spend a day.
I don’t get to the beaches as often as I should, but then I do like the peace and quiet (well when the cattle stop performing) of the countryside and the garden keeps me busy. Saying that I might try somewhere new tomorrow, before the threatened rain on Thursday.
It looks really enticing! Beautiful shot, Jude!
Thanks Pete, the views were stunning yesterday in the sun.
The colours are stunning – nothing much beats Cornwall on a sunny day. Now, before I allow my mouth to water too much – did you have a piece of cake which was coffee and walnut, or did you have coffee and a piece of walnut cake? I like the sound of walnut cake, but a coffee and walnut cake is a great favourite. π π
Coffee and walnut cake and juice. I can’t resist.
Now my mouth is watering at full flow – although I might swap the juice for a cup of tea. π
There is tea too – make it yourself though and pop the money in the honesty box!
It sounds like a lovely place – I like when there are honesty boxes.
Ahh it’s very pretty Jude and I’d paddle but that’s all!
Gorgeous image, Jude. I remarked today to hubby on the beautiful shade of blue here in St Ives. Very inviting indeed, but I saw that even the teenagers were wearing wet suits. Donβt think Iβll be going for a paddle this time around. Hope we can arrange a meeting. π
It might be colder on the Atlantic side of the coast. I didn’t see anyone wearing a wetsuit here. What are your plans? Email me and we can see if we can arrange to meet at some point,
I have emailed you twice, but no reply yet.
Emailed you today! Hopefully you’ll get it.
Yes I did. Thanks. Iβve replied
It does look rather wonderful, Jude, and I don’t like walnuts so no worries there. π π
Walnuts? I am going to have to think about this.
Ah, penny dropped. The cake. No worries there was a Victoria sponge, chocolate brownies and something else I think. My eyes went straight to the coffee and walnut π
I’ll have the something else. π π Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t eat a lot of cake.
No. Of course not. It’s the Driver who eats cake.
Exactly right π π
Spectacular colours in that sea.
It can be truly gorgeous around this coast.
