“Finding Trewyn Studio was a sort of magic’, wrote Barbara Hepworth. ‘Here was a studio, a yard and garden where I could work in open air and space.”
I’m not going to say much about this place as I think you will enjoy reading my impressions of this garden following my visit in 2015.
View Original Post: July 2015 to discover this wonderful gem in the heart of St Ives.
What a blissful photo, Jude! 🙂 🙂 One of our clematis has huge flowers this year and is clinging to the uprights of the wooden seat for grim death as the wind tugs it about. I keep promising it sunshine tomorrow but it’s not had much luck since it started flowering at the weekend.
Raining here this morning and it has been dull for days. Your flowers are ahead of mine this year. I cut my large-flowering clematis down and they are growing well, but no flowers so far.
Watching Novak and a new young Spanish hope. Halep was impressive. 🙂 🙂
Halep is a bit ‘hit and miss’ though. I quite liked the Italian who played Rafa yesterday – would have liked to have seen him stay in the competition longer, a shame he had to meet Rafa so early on.
BTW Did you see my post yesterday? It never showed up in my notifications and no-one liked or commented for several hours (I’m not seeking out attention, but it is unusual not to get a like pretty much immediately a post is published).
Which /what? Just sorting food. Will have a look in a bit xx
It was good to re-read your original post. What a life-enhancing creation. Synergistic – that’s the word.
Very tactile pieces and I am somewhat drawn to the colours of the patina. The aquamarine, the turquoise, the rusty brown.
Pieces that change as the garden changes.
True. I need to write up another visit recently with different flowers accompanying the sculptures.
Good to see this again, Jude. Something about her work always makes me want to touch it.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Fortunately you are allowed to touch some of these sculptures, they are very tactile.
Noted for our next visit down that way, thanks Jude!
It is only small, but you can buy a combined ticket with the Tate St Ives.
Thanks for the information Jude.
Looks very well worth a visit, Jude!
We passed through the village of Cornwall in New York the other day. I’d rather see yours.
Mmm… I’m guessing they are very different. Hugely busy here at the moment though as school holidays and the sun is shining (well it wasn’t yesterday, but today made up for it).
