I am joining in with a new weekly meme that I have come across for those of us who love our gardens (or even someone else’s garden.) It is Six on Saturday and hosted by ‘The Propagator’. Basically a post about six things in a garden, yours or someone else’s. Plants, birds, fruit, veg, tools, plans, ideas. Preferably with photos and some words, but not too many (words that is). See here for the participant’s guide.
So I am kicking off with six colours seen in the George V Memorial Walk this week. A floral rainbow.
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo / Violet
After the ‘beast from the east’ decided to head west followed by a second snow fall and below zero temperatures I was worried that a lot of the tender and half-hardy plants which are a feature of this Cornish garden walk would have suffered badly. After all they are not used to actual snow in these parts. There is some damage, especially to the agapanthus, of which there are many, and there might well be other casualties. I shall go back in a couple of weeks time and compare with my photos from the same date last April.
Not my garden, but I wish it was!
That’s a good new theme for you, Jude. Nice to see all the colours on yet another dull day here.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I’ll use it to record what is happening in my garden, but I have already posted most of my spring beauties. Sun struggling to get through here Pete, but it feels quite warm.
Beautyful pictures..👌
Thanks Leo 🙂
Some lovely photo’s there. Jealous of all the colours….hopefully the growing season has started in full up here.
I love this time of year (except for all the weeds…)
Bluebells already! Gorgeous! Actually I suppose it is mid-April now, so they should be out! I love a garden rainbow!
I love this garden as it is full of the type of plants I’d love to grow. But coming to understand that my garden is not the right one for a lot of these plants.
That’s a fresh twist on the sos theme. Just to think whether I could have done the same is to think about my garden from a new angle.
I do have some things in the garden, but wanted to showcase this little walk first. Glad you like the post Jim 🙂
Ooh goodie! Viewing this on my phone but I especially like the middle one of the green set. Lots of opportunity to share your flowers here Jude. You off adventuring soon? X
I figure this will be my opportunity to feature my garden this year. Just spent several hours in the garden, digging, planting, weeding…
Worn out, feet up, dial a pizza? 🙂 🙂
Bit stiff, but a G&T will sort me out. Not sure we get pizza delivery here 😉
I didn’t think you would! X
We might, just never tried. Dominoes is only 4 miles away. I just prefer to make my own pizza.
Dominoes? Groo! But then, I’m not a fan of take out pizza either. Why did I start this silly conversation? 🙂 🙂
Oh, verŷ good, Jude
Thanks Sue.
😊
Very pretty – I love the colours.
This place always rewards me with colour, no matter when I visit.
I love the idea of the Six being a rainbow of colours! 😀 I tried to do photos of a rainbow of flowers in my garden last year, and struggled to find some suitable indigo and violet!
Glad you enjoyed them 🙂
Ooh a rainbow! Great idea. Welcome to the gang!
Thanks Prop. I will show my garden soon. It is a good meme and I am enjoying visiting other gardeners posts.
