I am joining in with a new weekly meme that I have come across for those of us who love our gardens (or even someone else’s garden.) It is Six on Saturday and hosted by ‘The Propagator’. Basically a post about six things in a garden, yours or someone else’s. Plants, birds, fruit, veg, tools, plans, ideas. Preferably with photos and some words, but not too many (words that is). See here for the participant’s guide.
So I am kicking off with six colours seen in the George V Memorial Walk this week. A floral rainbow.
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo / Violet
After the ‘beast from the east’ decided to head west followed by a second snow fall and below zero temperatures I was worried that a lot of the tender and half-hardy plants which are a feature of this Cornish garden walk would have suffered badly. After all they are not used to actual snow in these parts. There is some damage, especially to the agapanthus, of which there are many, and there might well be other casualties. I shall go back in a couple of weeks time and compare with my photos from the same date last April.
Not my garden, but I wish it was!

What a clever idea to do colours like that. I like the look of that honey spurge- think I could grow that here.
It grows into a large bush, but it does smell absolutely heavenly.
The colours of the rainbow is a clever way to present the blooms – they all look so vibrant and inviting. 🙂
Always something going on here. And not the usual Cornish spring flowers.

I’m trying very hard not to get sucked into challenges. I told myself I would only post a couple of days a week but I have already broken that promise to myself!!!
Easy to do. I have just used this to do an update on the garden. I will probably go back to monthly once this month is over. And it nice to see what other gardeners are doing.
Oh, don’t tempt me!!! I like the “changing seasons” for that too.

I do Carol. There are many plants I would
likelove to have. Especially the callistemons and the grevilleas.They are wonderful for attracting the birds.
Is it possible to damage an agapanthus??? They’re classified pests here. Neglect certainly doesn’t work! A nice rainbow Jude.
I don’t think agapanthus like freezing temperatures…

True. But it wouldn’t take them more than five minutes!
