A new variety of crocus planted last autumn finally opened this week in the lovely sunshine we have enjoyed. So nice to have rain-free days again! The tightly closed blue flower is Iris reticulata ‘Harmony’.
inspired by the colours of the land, sea and sky of Cornwall

Gorgeous – hoping mine will be out when we return home (briefly) next week
To check on the cat? 😀
Cat check, executorship stuff, seeing my Mum and pilates!!
Oh and haircut!!
And then back to Portugal?
Yes – assuming of course we are able to fly in Tuesday!
Lovely! Looks like these have missed reading the ‘Spring is postponed’ headlines that are making the news.
Erm… yes I noticed on my phone weather app that we are due for some snow and very low temperatures next week. I guess these will be finished by then anyway, crocuses don’t seem to last very long.
Yay!!
BUT snow forecast next week!!!
True enough. ….😟
Great that the rian has stopped. We have ‘significant’ snow forecast for Monday though! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
Surprisingly WE have snow forecast for Tuesday / Wednesday and temperatures as low as -6.
Gulp!
Yikes we fly in Tuesday!
Good luck with that.
Hello Spring chicken! Have a lovely weekend xx
Bit of a dull and cold day today, but the sun has just appeared! A bit late as it will be setting soon 🙂
Beautiful! Lovely to see a bit of colour and life! Everything still looks very dead here.
It is always a pleasure to see the first flowers of the year appear.
The crocuses in your picture are a delight to see for someone, who lives still in the thralls of winter with more snow in the forecast. Best wishes from Canada!
More snow on the way here too Peter, from Siberia!
So delicate. A lovely shot, Jude.
They don’t last long though. But other bulbs on their way.
Beautiful. Spring is coming. 🙂
It looks as though we are plummeting into winter again this week as Siberian snowstorms head our way.
It seems that the weather has been up and down all over – it has happened here too.
Lovely shade of purple.
Much more delicate than my early flowering ones, these are a soft mauve shade. Sadly gone now. They don’t last long.
