Thursday Special: Survivors

Technically not a great or even a good photo. Captured on the move.

Best foot forward…

But one of two ‘boys’ who almost didn’t make it. Big A who had a 40% chance of surviving an operation this summer and his nephew, Little L who was born 5 weeks early in 2014 and weighed a mere 1.2 kg at birth. A photo I shall treasure for the rest of my life.

I do not know about anything of this – but understand it was a happy story in the end. I am so glad for your sake and for the boys’ and for Life returning. A precious shot indeed. May you have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

    1. Heyjude says:

Thank you Leya. We just never know what is around the corner do we.

      1. Leya says:

        And maybe that is good

  2. Lucid Gypsy says:

Oh my this has made me all emotional, thanks to the NHS and maybe the universe for making this photo possible.

    1. Heyjude says:

Yes, we are all very thankful for the NHS staff and especially the surgeon who saved his life. We will have to thank the Aussie health service for little Lorenzo’s care.

  3. Two “happy endings” in one photo. As the other commenters have said, it’s a great shot, regardless of its technical merits.

  4. A very special photo Jude. Puts life into perspective. Wishing you and your family all the very best for 2018 xx

    1. Heyjude says:

      Thank you Rosemary.

  5. Oh my, one kilo!! Moments to treasure, and a photo to remind you. Precious! Glad both were amongst the lucky ones 🙂
