In the middle of December when much of the country was covered in snow, we experienced several stormy days with gale force winds and sunshine and showers. Some of those showers were hailstones; listening and watching those clattering down on a skylight is quite a ‘heart in mouth’ experience. During the sunshine slots I was dashing upstairs or outside to try to capture the intense light or a rainbow. This image was taken from an upstairs window towards the south-west with the low-slung sun casting long shadows over the pastures.

Fantastic atmosphere!
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours,
Pit
And you Pit π
I can feel the wind whistling round my shoulders. Must get the double glazing fixed. π π Merry Christmas, Jude! Time to hang up your stocking.
Haha… don’t think I even own a stocking – will a sock do?
So long as your expectations aren’t high π π
They’re not π π
Ooooh…..very moody!!
We’ve had a lot of ‘weather’ this month π
π
Now that’s a view I could happily live with, even in a storm. Fabulous shot Jude.
The light was amazing, that green against the black sky just cried out to be photographed!
Certainly did – absolutely glorious. One of those photographs that should be up on a wall.
Threatening indeed. I always dread skies like that, when I am out with Ollie. I know a soaking is not too far off.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Wonderful sky! Merry Christmas to you and your family x.
Amazing light you’ve caught, surreal
The colour of the grass was so vivid in contrast to the sky. I had to be quick though as that sun didn’t hang around for long!
I’m sitting at the computer while a summer storm is putting on a show outside, with plenty of lightning and thunder, some rain and a little hail. It’s much cooler today, only 26 degrees after a 34 degree Christmas Day. Lovely photo, Jude.
There’s a bit of a storm going on here too – rain, hail, wind, but nothing like 26 degrees! Remove 20 and you’d be about right. Still I’m not bothered, I have books to read and photos to edit π
I have an overdue post to write. π
